Vermont Agency of Transportation – Child Car Safety

A serious message delivered in a playful way.

The COVID-19 Pandemic brought many new challenges for parents with young children, including how to handle the most routine tasks—like running to the grocery store. The Vermont Agency of Transportation wanted to acknowledge this, but also remind us all of the dangers of leaving children in parked cars in the summer.

Our objective was to encourage parents to plan ahead and try to find childcare when they have errands to run. Our solution was not about finger pointing or scare tactics, but to wrap this important message in the positive, yet relevant and child-friendly visual language of a storybook.
